A refined, intuitive approach to wedding photography

I’m Josie, a Melbourne-based wedding photographer with a refined, editorial approach — drawn to honest moments, beautiful light, and a sense of effortless elegance.

My work is shaped by a foundation in fashion and beauty photography, where I developed a strong eye for composition, detail, and the quiet nuances that elevate an image beyond the expected. That influence continues to guide the way I approach weddings today — balancing an editorial perspective with a calm, considered presence as the day naturally
unfolds.

For over a decade, I’ve photographed weddings with an emphasis on connection, atmosphere, and restraint. Rather than directing every moment, I observe — allowing space for things to happen naturally, and stepping in only when needed to gently guide. The result is imagery that feels both composed and deeply personal.

I’m drawn to images that feel timeless and quietly emotive. Nothing overly staged, nothing forced — just a thoughtful balance of intention and spontaneity. Photographs that don’t simply document how a day looked, but how it felt to be there.

Outside of photography, life is full and beautifully busy — shared with my husband and our three boys. It’s a season that keeps me grounded, and constantly reminds me of what matters most — connection, presence, and the fleeting nature of time.

Whether in Melbourne or abroad, I approach each wedding with care, intention, and a deep respect for its significance. My role is not just to document, but to create a collection of images that feel considered, enduring, and entirely your own.

Approach

Every wedding begins with understanding — not just timelines and details, but you as people. I take a thoughtful, personal approach in the lead up, ensuring everything feels considered and effortless so you can step into your day feeling calm and completely at ease.

On the day itself, my presence is intuitive and unobtrusive. I allow moments to unfold naturally, gently guiding when needed — whether that’s adjusting a veil, finding beautiful light, or offering direction when it matters. Just as importantly, I know when to step back, so you can be fully present with the people around you.

After the day, your images are carefully curated and edited with a timeless sensibility — preserving both the emotion and the atmosphere. Nothing rushed, nothing excessive. Just a thoughtful collection of photographs that will continue to feel relevant and meaningful for years to come.
